Adapting Music to Video games

A popular genre of well established video games.
It's not exactly something that takes explaining but there is alot of forms of it.
There are the Band Heroes:

Band Heroes being a series of instrument peripheral based games which usual include a microphone.
The Microphone however, originates from its own games like Singstar:

Singstar is a frequency based game involving your actual voice as you try and keep in key with the song playing on screen. Not easy for me.
Another approach to music videogames is Wii Music:

Wii Music is mostly a swinging game. As in you would mostly just swing your remote as if you were playing the instrument.
What I find stands out the most is the orchestra mode where you take the roll of the composer and the speed you bob your Wii remote in dictates how the orchestra plays.
If you can count it, Dance Dance Revolution is a music video game too!

The game does revolve around the dancing more than the music but what is dancing without music?
I see no reason to share my thoughts on how to improve adapting music to video games since we're at its best already.
